The moment I finally understood the exposure triangle, understanding how aperture, shutter speed and ISO work together, nothing held me back from creating artistic, meaningful work with my camera. I gave up counting the dozens of shoots, and endless hours spent searching on the Internet for tutorials to move forward. My motivation to take photos is driven not by business purposes, but by personal reasons. However, soon I realized that, to move from the ordinary. I needed more, so enrolled in eCornell’s Digital Photography certificate program which I will complete by the end of March 2021. I will continue to work as a professional amateur enriched by knowledge about the mechanics of the camera and digital editing programs; the skills acquired related to implementing the elements of lighting, style and expression in my work, and how to create a portfolio and set up a homepage. Searching for perfectionism I find inspiration from great artists such as Fan Ho, Ansel Adams, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Lucien Hervé. Photography has opened an exciting new chapter in my life. So far, I have made no money. Rather, I have spent a fair share buying camera lenses. However, what I have learned life is filled with many precious moments. The camera has helped me to become more aware of precisely these moments and I have learned to enjoy capturing what lies in front of me. Paying full attention to this presence, forget dwelling in the past or worrying about the future.
